Why align your LinkedIn profile?

Recruiters often check your LinkedIn profile immediately after reading your resume. The LinkedIn Advisor analyzes your resume against a specific job description to suggest a Headline and About section that bridge your experience to that role.

How to use the Advisor

Get suggestions in context.

  1. Run an Alignment Analysis for any job in your pipeline.
  2. Once analysis is complete, look for the "LinkedIn Advisor" button on the job card or analysis view.
  3. Click to open a dialog showing your suggested Headline and About text.
  4. Copy the text and paste it into your LinkedIn profile (we never update your profile automatically).
Manual Update Required
CV Refinery does not write to your LinkedIn profile directly. You must copy/paste the suggestions yourself.

Best Practices

Making the most of your profile.

  • Keywords matter: The advisor optimizes for keywords found in the job description.
  • Be authentic: The suggestions are based on your resume. Ensure the tone feels right for you before publishing.
  • Update often: If you're pivoting your search to a new role type, re-run the advisor for a job in that new category.
